Our design solutions are created in direct response to our Clients’ brief. their aspirations and vision and the specific nature and characteristics of the Site. its inhabitants and precedence. Contemporary elements are merged with local references and we aim to provide an emphasis on simplicity and integrity of natural materials and details, whilst maintaining timeless luxury and comfort throughout.

Our collective is composed of architects, designers, educators, engineers and builders throughout the world who assist us on projects either locally or internationally and whom we have worked directly with in the past. It allows us not only to work seamlessly in a variety of regions, but also to draw upon specific experience for successful building outcomes.
We believe that this model of collaboration strengthens our studio and allows us to become more versatile in the ability to take on projects of all scope, size and location.
In addition to this, individually and collectively, we strive to pursue broader interests such as teaching, lecturing or competition entry.

Director
Tanis hails from Winnipeg, Manitoba in Canada where she completed a Bachelor of Environmental Design degree in her hometown, immediately followed by a Master of Architecture from Dalhousie University, formerly known as the Technical University of Nova Scotia.

Following graduation, Tanis completed a one year apprenticeship in London, UK with Koetter Kim & Associates, working on the Canary Riverside Residential Community in the London Docklands area. She then moved to Los Angeles, CA working for Hayne Architects followed by Studio Tim Campbell, focusing primarily on high end residential projects on both the east and west coasts as Senior Architect and Project Manager.
In 2010, Tanis relocated to New York City where she initiated the east coast office of Studio Tim Campbell, acting as Director of Design for both Architecture and Interiors, and traveling between the two offices regularly. For the next five years, Tanis both designed and project managed high end residential projects in Manhattan and the Hamptons as well as being an integral part of all projects in the Los Angeles office. In early 2016, she returned to the UK and has since worked throughout Scotland and England on a multitude of residential and commercial projects.
In addition to extensive travel, both professionally and personally, Tanis has also worked closely with architects and institutions in Canada to initiate architectural studies in Canada, the US and Europe. She is currently co heading a design studio in Iceland with the University of Manitoba and Dalhousie University on an annual basis, as well as consulting at Faculties of Architecture at various universities worldwide.
Tanis currently lives in London, England and is a Director at Studio HAVN with projects throughout the UK, Europe, US and China.

Senior Architect
Hugo was born in Viana do Castelo, Portugal, graduating in 2009 with a Masters Degree in Architecture and Urbanism at Fernando Pessoa University. Whilst undertaking his degree, he also undertook an internship in Paris at the office of Barthelemy Ifrah.
Hugo was born in Viana do Castelo, Portugal, graduating in 2009 with a Masters Degree in Architecture and Urbanism at Fernando Pessoa University. Whilst undertaking his degree, he also undertook an internship in Paris at the office of Barthelemy Ifrah.
After completing his studies, Hugo returned to Viana do Castelo where he worked as an Architect for 5 years honing and developing his skills in modular architecture, before relocating to the UK in 2013 in search of new and exciting challenges. Upon arriving, he worked in a handful of practices, gaining experience in projects of various scales and scopes, including Master Planning, Hospitality and High End Residential.
In 2015, he joined GL Architects, a specialist in Grade I and II Listed which solidified his passion for Residential Design. This led to a role as Senior Architect for a Monaco based studio, working on projects around the world, including Maison Villeroy in Paris and Harcourt House in London.
Hugo currently lives in London, England although travels quite frequently back to his home in Portugal. Along with being a member of the ARB, RIBA and the Portuguese Association of Architects, he is one of the founding Directors of Studio HAVN.

Abbey was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada and following graduation, relocated to Vancouver to pursue further education in Architecture & Design. She attended the University of British Columbia, and completed a Bachelor of Environmental Design degree with distinction at the School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture in 2021.

She attended the University of British Columbia, and completed a Bachelor of Environmental Design degree with distinction at the School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture in 2021.
Following her graduation, Abbey developed her technical skillset while working as a junior designer at a local Architecture firm in Vancouver. While gaining experience through practice, she decided to expand her knowledge of Interior Design by attending the British Columbia Institute of Technology. Abbey has since found an interest in working across the fields of Architecture and Interior Design.
Abbey currently lives in London, England and is enjoying broadening her horizons and travelling around Europe.
