St James’s Square in the City of Westminster is a garden square, surrounded by Georgian and Neo Georgian architecture, and although previously, residential, it is now the home to luxury office buildings for several high profile companies. We were asked by the owners of one of the more contemporary buildings on the square to redesign the public spaces, primarily the Entrance Lobby, to include a reception area, lounge and coffee bar. As well, we redesigned the breakout and kitchen areas for each of the floors. The building was originally built in the 60’s so careful consideration was made to adhere to the mid century modern style of its original context, utilising rich walnuts, stones and leather to create a more inviting space.
