Studio HAVN, alongside Abode Architecture, were appointed as the Interior Designers for a newly constructed five star Hotel in Hangzhou, China, just south of Shanghai, scheduled to open in Fall 2021. The scope of work was for the entirety of the Hotel including two of the seven private Villas, and encompassed all Guest Suites as well as public areas such as the Entrance Lobby, Pool, Spa, Tea House and Meeting Rooms, to name but a few.
The Hotel is set within vast hills of green tea, which the region is renowned for, thus, all materials selected for the interiors are natural and praised for their unique qualities, whether they be timber stone, metals such as bronze and brass and fabrics like linens and cashmere as well as textured plaster and tracery. Layered upon this palette are individual elements that bring out the nature of the material, as well as complement it, in the form of furniture, lighting, fine art and sculpture.
The Qinglong Mountain Project is not just a five star Hotel, but, rather a celebration of all that Hangzhou, and China, as a whole, has to offer. Whether within the Hotel or outside in the grounds, one feels immersed in the landscape, the culture and the very nature of its place.
